The Portobello Brewing Company opened its doors in December 2012 and is the largest capacity brewery in the area since Whitbread closed the Notting Hill Brewery in 1922.
Producing both craft ale and craft lager the brewery will have two permanent ales, Portobello Pale, ABV 4%, and Star, ABV 4.3%.
See below for a range of beers brewed by Portobello Brewing Company, tasting notes and information on each beer:
A traditional Pilsner style lager. Long cold fermentation and maturation, a specially selected yeast, is essential to achieve the fully rounded continental flavour.
Floral and berry hop characters, followed by gentle coffee and roast hazelnut aromas. Smooth in the mouth with more roasted malt and coffee characters and a nice dry, toasted astringency and hint of bitter.
Maris Otter Pale Ale and Caragold Malts create the golden canvas for this enchanting Pale Ale. A citrus dominated beer; its immediate impression is soft and smooth yet builds to a climax of hoppiness accentuated caramel and an enduring, bitter finish.
APA is a great session beer - very lightly kilned Maris Otter Pale Ale malt creates its distinctive white gold colour with a blend of citrus and spice.
Floral and berry hop characters tickle the nose, followed by gentle coffee and roast hazelnut aromas. Smooth in the mouth with more roasted malt and coffee characters and a nice dry, toasted astringency and hint of bitter.
A unique use of Malts, Roasted Barley and Hops. Its aromas are cappuccino, chocolate, dark fruits and vibrant fresh peel. Velvety and rich, with notes of coffee, chocolate and hazelnuts with warming alcohol and cocoa in the finish.
