Burns Night 2021

This year Burns night probably won’t be the same as it usually is for many. No piping in the guests, no big Burns Supper, and no Ceiidh.

So, what does that leave us with?

Well we still have the core of the evening - a delicious meal of Haggis, neeps and tatties, some Guid Ale for accompaniment, and a dram of your favourite Scotch whisky to finish. You can also find a varied selection of bagpipe music on YouTube to help you get into the spirit of the evening, and we still, of course, have the works of the man himself, 262 years after his birth.

Why not brush up on a few of Burns’ poems before the night or take turns in reciting some of the more traditional elements - The Selkirk Grace, Address to a Haggis and Auld Lang Syne. Don’t forget to Toast to the Lassies and let them have their reply!

If you manage to get any photos or videos of yourself or family getting into the Burns spirit, why not post them to your social media accounts with scotland.org’s #BurnsNightIn and enjoy the evening with others from around the world.
