Naked Packaging

Those of you who have taken advantage of our spangly new online shop (and once again, thank you!) will have noticed that we’ve stopped sending beer out in cardboard boxes, and instead have been shipping straight from our bottling line’s shrink wrapper. In an effort to reduce our environmental impact, we’ve decided naked packaging is the way to go. We avoid using unnecessary cardboard, you have one less trip to your recycling bin. You could call us naturists.

So far, the trial seems to be going brilliantly; we’ve had no instances of breakages in transit, which is especially encouraging since the bottles are braving the journey all the way from the island to your front door.

Our next step will be to change our shrink wrap to one which is fully recyclable (and contains 30% recycled materials, oh my!), along with the cardboard tray the beer is held in. Given that our online shop is going to be our main route to market for the foreseeable future*, minimising our carbon footprint on that side is a huge priority for us in the future – we need to keep Arran looking beautiful, after all.

So let us know what you think – have you gotten your lovely beer and been impressed with how it looks au naturale? And do please remember to leave us a review on Facebook or Google! It makes us feel warm and fuzzy inside.

Cheers!
- Craig

*Oh hey, did we mention you get free shipping on orders of 2 or more cases? We might have mentioned it. I can’t remember. But it’s worth repeating, hey? Free. Shop here!
